Fighter - An adaptive & the purest melee class found in Ivalice. The fighter is a class that finds enjoyment in the close quarter combats of combat. A fighter often found with the proficiency of any weapon they have grown attached too, taking it the the front lines of battlegrounds and striking it through their opponents. This class takes pride in removing anyone who dares to enter the radius of their weapon. Often finding solitude of being equipped with Armour. Protecting them from the clash of the opponents weapons and spells.
Sentinel - Is a lethal & the purest form of range combat found in Ivalice. The Sentinel class uses distance to out maneuver their opponents and strike them down. Often carrying a melee weapon or two, however the heart of their combat is with the weapon they sling their shots across the crimson soil. Wither it be a simple bow, rifle, or sling shot, in the hand of a Sentinel they are lethal weapons. This class remove the element of being close to kill another, allowing them to strike with swift and stealth based techniques. Armour is not a Sentinel base finesse, preferring lighter gear to move quick and keep the distance between their opponent.
Savage - the science of using the shadows and silence to disarm and finish their foes. The Savage is a class that fights close quarters, however they do not carry large weapons like the fighter, not aim from afar like the Sentinel. Instead they hide themselves from Ivalice. Striking from the depths of their surroundings with a single slash, striking the opponent in their weak-spot and dropping them to the ground. The Savage's weapon often is something small, that they can carry on their person with ease. Daggers, and the like being weapons of choice. Similar to the Sentinel, the Savage prefers lighter gear to move without sound.
Sorcerer - the art of casting and performing spells in Ivalice. Sorcerer is a class that can fight in close quarters and from a distance. Typically not using a weapon, but rather a medium to invoke and strengthen their spells. Often a spell requires a simple incantation, letting them speak and channel a spell at their opponent. The spell can be a simple ball of fire hurling to their opponent, to a meteor summoned from the sky hurling onto the opposing army. However other spells might require long incantations, runes, or rituals depending on the strength of the technique. Sorcerer prefer to wear cloth and light clothing to imbue their magic into and move quickly during combat.
Priest - the prayers and mending of hume and creature alike. The Priest is a class that does not primarily focus on injuring and killing the target. Instead the priest focuses on nature and its healing energy. Releasing this energy in bursts, or a single release letting them to heal simple wounds to lethal injuries. Priests do not need weapons, however an idol or tool to help channel their energy to heal is often found on their person. Though if a priest needs to defend themselves they are not left defenseless, often masters of barrier and defensive spells that protect them from harm. Similar to sorcer's, they wear light cloth that is etched with prayers of healing and words of faith.

Akatsuhara Specific
Fighter Based
Samurai - A Samurai is a variant of the fighter class, most popular within the country of Akatsuhara. A Samurai fights with the pride & honor of his country. Often wearing the crest of his city-state on him. A Samurai uses quick and sudden strikes to subdue his opponents, often using a weapon known as a katana, a curved blade that cuts through its opposition.
Sentinel Based
Gunner - With the abundant amount of technolgly and artifacts found the gunner is a ranged class that use rifles and guns as their tool to fight their opponents. Armed to the teeth with bullets, small steel cased ammunition that is fired from their weapon. Their gun's vary in size to the personal taste, from simple pistols that fire small caliber shots, to a rife meant for maximum distance that fires rounds capable of taking down some of Ivalice biggest creatures.
Sorcerer Based
Magus - Is a spell caster that uses artifacts to strength their incantations. The legendary weapon or jewelry often items containing a sealed source of energy not meant to be in mortal hands. The seal fractured by these sorcerer's, and its magical energy pouring into these casters. The amount and force of spells casted by Magus are much stronger then the common caster, however they pay with focus and channeling being much harder with this constant overflow of magicka & mana.
Priest Based
Shaman - A battleground medic, the savior of the front lines, leaving the peace bound magic and spells behind. A shaman casts nature spells and healing techniques with crude incantation, taming the divine under their control and twisting it to their command. A shaman often carries a totem on them to channel their own chakra to heal. Creating seals and arrays with their fingers, even in blood to mark their target and heal them. With the healing energy under their command, they often have knowledge of other spells to be a bane to their opponents, hexing them and cursing them.
Gigandal Specific
Fighter Based
Knight - A hero of the people of Gigandal, the Knight is a class that carries pride & honor for fighters of their home country. The Knight is vary similar to a fighter, however they have mastered the art of the shield and Armour, then diving head straight into combat. The Knight uses shields of all size, from a small buckler covering their arm, to a tower shield that covers there whole person. Their Armour often lit up with symbols of their home town and the crest of their nation. With the science involved with their country most of their gear is superb to deflecting attacks and forming barriers. Even with a shield on their back, knights are capable of carrying a two handed weapon and swinging down onto their opponents.
Sentinel Based
Scout - Not only is the scout a master of ranged combat, they have all the tools to back them up. A scout is equipped with the knowledge of their surroundings and their prey. Often having equipment that can peer hundreds of feet away, among other surprises. The scout is best known for its capability to fade into its surroundings. Simply making its shot, then turning to nothing. As if they were a phantom falling back into the shadows. A scout doesn't prefer loud or powerful weapons, but those that are silent and can easily be setup despite the terrain.
Sorcerer Based
Alchemist - An alchemist is a sorcerer with the in depth knowledge of substance & matter. They have mastered the art of arrays & runes. As it is the main source of their magical potential, with the rich gas and ore deposit of their country they have learned how to turn simple substances into value commodities. Not just this, in combat they can turn their opponents metallic Armour into a substance as brittle as lead, simply needing a flick of the wrist to sunder it. They can make a weak defense into the strongest substance around them, these casters are vary dangerous and must be watched, one mistake and it will be your last.
Priest Based
Medic - Is a healer devoted tot he power of science over faith and nature. The Medic uses their tools to their advantage, often carry kits of supplies to aid them. Quickly removing a needle from their bags and giving their target a shot. Making them painless for the next ten minutes, even siriums have been designed to regeneracy flesh among other secrets that they have not shown the rest of Ivalice. Not only this, they have their own set of poisons and gases to harm their opponents if they dare come close enough to a medic. With a pair of pads, they can even bring back the fresh dead by a miracle from above.

Parent classes, I think these need to be a little more umbrella, narrowing down the parent classes to possibly three or maybe four would be best and then we can let our members decide what their 'specific' class is. My vision for character creation is for a site where members are free to make what they want and set their own parameters instead of having to line up uniformly. Lets let the members tell us what Fighter means to them, what the magic of a Sorcerer is capable of. And of course we will have trusted and tested staff to help keep everything on a level playing ground.
Regionally specific classes, I think they help define each area and I would like to see a few more for each 'parent' class. Over all fantastic idea.
