† Classes --- This is an idea of weaponry, from each of these sections, you may create your own weaponry, so long as it is not overpowered. Your custom weapon will be reviewed along with your profile, as it is apart of the template. If you choose to use a weapon already in existence, that is fine to, and that is what this thread is for! To give you an example, and a list of ideas of weapons you may want to use. Researching weaponry is also a good idea, by using key terms implemented from this search, such as Assault Rifles!

† Classes --- Ranged Weaponry★Assault Rifles are the core of weaponry. Effective at close to medium ranges, they prove quite effective in firefights. Examples would be the Bushmaster ACR and the M4 Carbine
★Sub-Machine Guns are extremely effective close range weaponry. While they can be effective at medium ranges, they do not match the Assault rifle when it comes to longer ranges. Even so, their high rate of fire cover for the lack of power and distance, making this type of weaponry extremely effective. Some examples would be the notorious MP5 and the Uzi |
[/b] [/size] ★ Pistols are a more complex and diverse area, as they can be split into two sections. Revolvers, and Semi-Automatics. While some pistols may fall in-between these two, these are the two general topics. Pistols are most common as sidearms, and can very from little power to high power, and high ammo capacity to low ammo capacity. Their range is short, and they are usually last ditch efforts.
★ Light Machine Guns are the heaviest of ranged weaponry. They are typically large, heavy, but really pack a punch. With extremely high amounts of ammo, you don't want to be caught in the crossfire by these babies. Some examples of the LMG's would be the M239 Saw[/b] and the M60 Machine Gun. [/size] ★ Sniper Rifles are extremely useful, and perhaps only useful, in long range encounters. Typically holding scopes, these rifles take time and precision to shoot, and when shooting, a partner is typically working with you. Some examples of these sniper rifles would be the M95 Sniper Rifle[/b] and the PSG-1[/b][/size] ★ Thrown Objects, such as knives, darts, or Shurikens, would be classified here. Examples most likely don't need to be used, as this is a broad subject with little description. Basically, any weapon that is thrown at the enemy, even grenades and spears. ★ Bow and Arrow, may it be a crossbow or longbow, or a composite bow. This weaponry is not as dull as one might expect, as the element of magic can make it extremely useful. These types of ranged weapons are typically inexpensive, and silent (even quieter than a silenced gun, as a silenced gun still makes a loud noise, it is simply more of a disguise in sound). Melee Weaponry★ Swords are a very common type of weaponry seen across the world. A list of standard swords can be viewed at wikipedia, by clicking this link[/url]. These are the standard, more realistic swords we see in our world. Claymores, rapiers, longswords, etc. [/size] ★ Zanbato is the classification of abnormally large blades. They are quite common in Fantasia, and these blades can be seen as Cloud's Buster sword.★ Staffed Weaponry would include literally all of the following:
- Axes
- Halberds
- Staffs
- Rods
- Spears
- Scythes
★ Close Quarters weapons such as Brass Knuckles, Combat Knives, Claws, etc. These weapons, such as the brass knuckles, could be infused with ballistics, causing minor explosions upon each punch. Nun-Chucks and Baseball Bats can also be implemented into this section.★ Mechanical Weaponry is typically specialized to Akat. Mechanical weaponry would be described as chainsaw swords, spears with chains that allow the bladed part to be shot as a projective, and reeled back in, but mostly these weapons are highly diverse, leaving for the most room in customization. Gunblades would also fit into this category.

What if the technology was magic based, like instead of them channeling energy to make spells the used technology and machinery to channel the energy to power their weapons and robots and mecha things. I think allowing players machine guns and the like will just transform combat into what we have in the real world as modern warfare. I just don't think there is a way to balance guns in with magic unless the guns are fueled by magic.

I'm not done with this, hence WIP, but we are going by Fantasia and Aaron said to do this, so...yeah. But, to answer, I disagree. Magic is far more superior than you might be thinking. Magic can stop a bullet, or a flash of bullets, very easily. If you want a visual, watch the FFXIII Versus Trailer. IMO, this weaponry against magic is pretty even. This isn't a One Piece feel, and I'd imagine a giant sword or a mecha could also deflect a large amount of bullets. Fantasy. Not Reality.
